Hi, I am Juris, and this is Modern Different. I am pretty much everything here.
I love to test, talk and recommend products. But I am pretty conservative, and as soon as I find a good product or service, I’ll stay loyal to that company and people for a long time. I will tolerate their bad days, mistakes, and poor communication as long as they will be willing to go that extra mile in the long term.
I thought to share some of my favorite products. I have bought these products many times. I use and enjoy them every day.
Byredo Mojave Ghost Eau de Parfum
I discovered the Byredo brand a few years ago. It was at Liberty shop in London. In the beginning, I was pretty skeptical about the Byredo perfume because it is unisex. But now I love this approach because it gives me the freedom to wear what I like. There is no one to judge me. I like many scents, but I love Mojave Ghost. And if you buy something at Byredo, they are super generous with samples, so you can try new scents and live (wear) with them for some time before you buy.
Hoka One One Clifton Running Shoes
As an enthusiastic runner, I’ve tested many running shoes from the leading brands. A few months ago, I purchased Hoka running shoes. They look clunky and awkward. And for that reason, I’ve never considered them as good running shoes. But after I run 500 miles, I love them. They are super comfortable on long runs, incredibly light, and responsive.
Form Performance Protein
Performance’s tiramisu flavor is the perfect post-workout vegan protein powder. It has 30g of organic pea, brown rice, and hemp proteins. It tastes great with just water, but I like to add almond milk and banana. It helps me build muscle and recover faster after long runs.
Monocle Magazine Subscription
Each issue of the magazine focuses on business, culture, design, and fashion. I can guarantee that by reading Monocle, you will become a more interesting person. I enjoy a good mix of thoughtful text, beautiful pictures, and clever illustrations.
Paynter Field Jacket
Becky and Huw from Paynter make field jackets like no others. They put their heart and soul into making them. They drop jackets only three times per year, plus a couple of micro-batches made of truly unique fabrics. They usually sell out in under three minutes. Follow them on Instagram or subscribe to their newsletter. It’s the only way to hear about new product drops.
